I went to the Taos, NM show on 1/11/12. Since this was my first Duster show since the Four Corners Folk Festival last September, it was the first time I had seen them without Jesse. I got to see them w/Jesse probably about 10 times. I did miss Jesse’s playing and what he brings to the band, but at the same time I thought it opened up new avenues for the band as a whole to explore. This Taos show was pretty darn good. Here’s what they played: set one 01: Intro 02: It Don’t Mean Nothing To Me 03: Well, Well 04: How Far I’d Fall 05: 17 Cents 06: Instrumental 07: High On A Mountaintop 08: Won’t Be Coming Back 09: Gettin Down The Road 10: One More Bridge 11: Get It While You Can 12: Black Rock *set two* 13: Steam Powered Aero Plane 14: No More To Leave You Behind 15: Keep On Truckin 16: Ain’t No Way of Knowin 17: All The Same 18: Fork In The Road 19: Like I do (? – Andy Falco lead vocal) 20: Instrumental 21: Can’t Put Out The Fire (?) 22: Long, Lonesome Day 23: Free (Phish cover song) 24: Hitchhiker 25 (1st encore): In God’s Country 26 (2nd encore): Uncle Pen
I recorded the show, but I have yet to learn the upload thing to the archive… I did talk to Drew a bit, and he mentioned to me that he is using the same type of mic’s that I use to record the show along side his new, fancy multi-track board – Busman Audio Mic’s (we were both using Hyper Cardioid cap’s). I used these mic’s into a Marantz PMD-661 recorder.
